OSS

The OSS in an onboard loading computer and damage prediction tool that can integrate with a Safety Management System (SMS), developed by Martec S.p.A in Italy, for real-time automatic monitoring of various ship elements including draughts, doors and tanks. The software can also be configured for use in a multi-workstation environment to allow synchronisation of data throughout the vessel.

In addition to providing rapid stability analysis of the current loading condition, courtesy of a tried and tested calculation engine developed by Herbert Software Solutions in the USA, the OSS offers support for hypothetical "what-if" analysis and final state prediction to assist with decision support in the event of flooding.

The software itself is designed around the use of an intuitive graphical user interface to assist the operator in quickly defining loading conditions, which in turn has the added benefit of significantly reducing the learning curve for new users.

The OSS is currently operational on a number of Italian Navy vessels.
